I am an artist living and working in Bristol, UK and more recently in Palmela, Portugal. My artistic interests are in landscape and documentary painting and photography.
I use photographs a lot in my painting and look for paintings in the landscape when I take photographs. I am interested in the idiosyncrasies of history and place and the familiarity with somewhere that makes it a part of you.
My favourite painters are Alice Neel and Liao Xiaodong but I take as much inspiration from popular music with its constant mixing and reshaping of different forms and styles and its mutual respect for all comers.
